Overview

The ICAT Local team leader will be responsible for the overall implementation of the ICAT process in Zambia, ensuring the timely and quality delivery of project outputs and outcomes in collaboration with national authorities and stakeholders.


Tasks Summary
  • Leading the work and/or supporting technical experts in delivering activities described in the workplan.
  • Ensuring the implementation of the entire ICAT process.
  • Engaging and coordinating with national authorities and other key stakeholders.
  • Providing general advisory on the process and technical assistance needed for delivering required outputs.
  • Applying a participatory approach for coordination, involving a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ensuring multi-disciplinary scope covering all relevant aspects concerning sectorial and sub-sectorial focus.
  • Ensuring implementation of communication and coordination between ICAT technical experts, national and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring timely submission of deliverables according to the ICAT workplan, workshops and other activities.
  • Ensuring the quality of products delivered by technical experts.
  • Drafting and editing planned reports in the framework of the project.
  • Supporting the ICAT project manager at UNEP CCC with on-request project related reporting, feedback surveys after training workshops, local support on workshop logistic coordination and other similar tasks.

Experience Requirements
  • Proven working experience in climate/environment protection minimum 5 years.
  • Proven experience project/team management minimum 10 years.
  • Proven experience of working in collaborating with public sector and governmental agencies, engagement with NDC development and Climate Transparency.
  • Proven experience of working with international development projects, national and local stakeholder engagement related to climate mitigation, minimum 5 years.
  • Demonstrated experience with preparation of national climate reporting such as national communications and biennial update report /Biennial Transparency Report and good knowledge of Procedures and Guidelines of the Enhanced Transparency Framework.

Qualification Requirements
  • Advance university degree (Master’s or equivalent), preferably in the natural and social sciences.
  • A Bachelor degree with a relevant combination of four years of additional experience related to the position may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

Languages Required: • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
