Overview
The Vehicle Auto Electrician role supports the internal UN garage by addressing all auto-electrical aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, including diagnostics, battery systems, lighting, and electrical troubleshooting for UN fleet vehicles.
Tasks Summary
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as multimeters and OBD2 scanners.
- Repair or replace electrical wiring, fuses, relays, switches, and lighting systems.
- Install or troubleshoot alternators, starters, batteries, and ignition systems.
- Calibrate and maintain dashboard instruments and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.
- Collaborate with mechanics for integrated repairs.
- Record all maintenance work and diagnostics into service logs.
- Assist in preparing periodic reports on electrical maintenance activities.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in auto-electrical systems, automotive maintenance is required.
Qualification Requirements
Secondary education is required. OR A university degree in Auto Electrical Systems, Automotive Engineering or related field will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
