Overview
The Gender Equality Social & Disability Inclusion (GESDI) Specialist will build staff capacity and foster a common understanding of pathways to economic empowerment for all project participants, especially women, youth, and those with disabilities.
Tasks Summary
- Build capacity of project staff and partners in GESDI.
- Support GESDI assessments during project design.
- Participate in policy reviews to identify gaps affecting vulnerable groups.
- Ensure beneficiary selection considers women, youth, and vulnerable groups.
- Design tools and materials to mainstream WEE/GESDI.
- Conduct project monitoring visits for quality assurance.
- Engage with M&E specialist to monitor outcomes related to women & youth progression.
- Support planning of marginalized groups’ activities.
- Conduct quarterly reviews with project implementing sites.
- Follow field-level plans and support key interventions.
- Attend national level Technical working group meetings.
- Facilitate staff & partner training in GESDI and Livelihood activities.
- Support staff orientation and team-building initiatives.
- Integrate GESDI initiatives into activity implementation.
- Support planning and budgeting of women and youth activities.
- Ensure expenditure of budget is in line with plans.
- Support the development of project reports.
- Conduct periodic Data Quality Assurance (DQA).
- Develop project materials including case studies.
- Support M&E team and DFs in baseline and evaluation processes.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- At least 3 years working in the area of Livelihood with a focus on GESDI.
- Experience in Project Management in a complex, international organization preferably in an NGO context will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge in M&E and gender mainstreaming and associated indicators and outcome areas with funded projects from various donors.
- Knowledge and understanding of World Vision operations would be an added advantage.
- Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, report writing, and publishing project materials.
Qualification Requirements
Degree in Development Studies, Gender studies, or any other related field.
