Overview
The role involves monitoring and finalizing assigned files, conducting research, and drafting legal documents under the supervision of the Secretary of the Commission.
Tasks Summary
- Analyse assigned files and prepare legal opinions
- Study individual requests and work on other legal matters related to the Commission’s role
- Correspond with IPSG and NCBs for file administration
- Prepare studies, minutes of meetings, analysis reports, draft rules, and other documents
- Conduct legal documentary research
- Participate in meetings and speak at conferences
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience
- Experience within a judicial body, international organization, international law firm, or in-house corporate counsel position is desirable
- Prior judicial clerkship or equivalent experience supporting or advising judges, tribunals, or dispute resolution/adjudicative bodies, especially in the international arena preferred
- Educational or professional experience in data protection, human rights litigation, asylum/refugee law, national criminal law, extradition, or international arbitration would be an asset
Qualification Requirements
- Higher education in law (Master's, LLM, LLD or equivalent)
- Specialization in data protection or human rights desirable
