Foundation for Holistic and Sustainable Development Windmill Tree Leśna, Poland Volunteer opportunity: Join PCKK team in Jelenia Góra
PCKK Foundation for Education and Development is a non-profit organization based in Jelenia Góra, Poland. We work in the fields of non-formal education, social inclusion and community development. Our activities focus on children, youth, adults and seniors, especially people with fewer opportunities such as migrants, refugees, seniors at risk of social isolation and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. We run community centres, youth clubs and senior programmes, including the Teen Club, intergenerational projects and international initiatives. We are experienced in Erasmus+ projects and cooperate with partners from different European countries. Our work is based on solidarity, volunteering, intercultural dialogue and lifelong learning. As a volunteer, you will support educational and integration activities, help with workshops and events for youth and seniors, assist in community projects and contribute to daily organisational tasks. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Volunteers will be accommodated either in a hostel (single room) or in a shared flat in Jelenia Góra. In both options, volunteers will have their own room or share an apartment with. The Foundation covers the full cost of accommodation, utilities (water, electricity, heating) and internet access. The accommodation is fully equipped, including a kitchen with all necessary appliances and utensils, allowing volunteers to prepare their own meals. Jelenia Góra is a small and safe city, and most daily activities can be reached on foot. The Foundation’s main location is city center. Training during the activity During the volunteering period, volunteers will take part in official European Solidarity Corps trainings. This includes an On-Arrival Training, helping them adapt to the new country, project and local community, and a Mid-Term, offering space for reflection, learning and sharing experiences with other volunteers. In addition, volunteers will participate in internal trainings organised by the hosting organisation and its partner Windmill Tree Foundation. These trainings focus on non-formal education, intercultural learning, social inclusion, working with youth and seniors. Participant profile We are looking for motivated volunteers 20 - 30 y.o. who are interested in social activities, non-formal education and community work. The volunteer should feel comfortable communicating in English, as English will be used during activities such as English speaking clubs for young people and seniors. Interest in working with youth, seniors and people from different cultural backgrounds is important. Previous experience is not required – openness, empathy and willingness to learn are more important than formal qualifications. Volunteers should be interested in digital literacy, education, intercultural exchange or community development. Basic digital skills (using a computer, smartphone, online tools) are welcome, especially for supporting seniors and participants in learning everyday digital skills. We welcome volunteers who are proactive, patient and ready to share their ideas, culture and skills. This opportunity is open to people with fewer opportunities, and we are happy to adapt tasks and support to individual needs.
