STOWARZYSZENIE JEDEN SWIAT POZNAN, Poland Volunteer opportunity: Peace Educator at Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat - SCI Poland
Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat – the Polish branch of Service Civil International (SCI) – is looking for a long-term volunteer to join our team in Poznań! As a volunteer, you will: – Organize and facilitate educational workshops and activities in the office and in schools or youth organizations. – Develop and deliver content on peace, intercultural dialogue, human rights, and social inclusion – you’re welcome to bring your own ideas! – Create a practical guide for future workshop and event facilitators. – Co-coordinate or participate in a summer international volunteering project (workcamp). – Support ongoing educational projects and assist with office tasks as needed. You’ll gain hands-on experience in non-formal education, workshop facilitation, and youth engagement, while being part of a mission-driven NGO promoting peace and inclusion. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements The volunteer will share a fully-equipped flat with two other participants and will have his/her own bedroom. The flat is located around 20 minutes by tram from the office. The volunteer receives a fixed amount of pocket money (6 euros/day) and a monthly support allowance. A city transport card is also provided. Training during the activity At the beginning of the project, the volunteer will go on On-Arrival Training to get to know what exactly the ESC project is in practice, to know the rights and obligations and to meet volunteers from other organizations. In the middle of the project, she/he will go on Midterm Training to summarize the experiences so far, get inspired and make the most of the remaining project time. More trainings will be offered via The Center and via Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat, the Leading Organisation. Participant profile We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic volunteer (18–30 years old) who is passionate about education, youth engagement, and peace topics. Someone who: - Is interested in non-formal education and youth work; - Has good communication skills and enjoys working with children, teenagers, and adults; - Is willing to deliver workshops and educational activities on topics such as peace, intercultural dialogue, human rights and social inclusion; - Is collaborative, responsible, and ready to contribute to the daily work of the Peace Education Center; - Is creative and proactive in developing personal educational initiatives, such as the creation of a guide for future facilitators.
