Overview
The Senior Driver provides reliable and safe driving services to UNFPA Representatives, staff, and visitors, ensuring adherence to protocol and security standards.
Tasks Summary
- Driving office vehicles for transport of UNFPA Representatives, staff, officials, and visitors.
- Delivering and collecting mail and documentation.
- Meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport, managing visa and customs formalities when required.
- Keeping abreast of traffic, road, security, and safety awareness.
- Managing vehicle maintenance, conducting minor repairs, cleaning, and arranging for major repairs and service.
- Keeping daily vehicle logs and assisting in preparing vehicle maintenance plans and history reports.
- Obtaining security clearances for missions.
- Ensuring adherence to organization's rules, regulations, and procedures for driving and vehicle maintenance.
- Keeping track of insurance and tax formalities.
- Acting as a translator in local language for official passengers, where necessary.
- Guiding and coaching junior drivers.
- Assisting CO staff with general administrative duties.
Experience Requirements
Three years’ work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system with a safe driving record.
Qualification Requirements
- Completed Secondary Level Education.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Defensive Driving certification, preferable.
