Overview
Provides professional support for the management, implementation, and monitoring of UNFPA South Africa's initiatives focused on adolescent and youth development. Plays a key role in integrating youth voices, needs, and evidence into national development frameworks and UNFPA-supported programmes.
Tasks Summary
- Assist in formulation, implementation, and evaluation of country programme projects related to youth empowerment, leadership, and participation.
- Compile and analyze information, draft project documents, and prepare annual work plans.
- Provide technical and logistical support to implementing partners for youth-focused activities.
- Monitor programme progress against results and ensure application of UNFPA systems and procedures.
- Conduct field visits, participate in review meetings, and prepare inputs for status and progress reports.
- Monitor project expenditures and disbursements, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and UNFPA's financial rules.
- Conduct preliminary analysis of political, social, and economic trends affecting youth in South Africa.
- Prepare background information for policy dialogue.
Experience Requirements
- Experience in programme management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of youth-focused projects is required.
- Experience in areas such as Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), youth-friendly health services, and youth entrepreneurship programmes is relevant.
- Experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with government, UN agencies, and civil society is needed.
- Experience in resource mobilization and initiatives strengthening youth leadership and participation is beneficial.
