Overview

This internship supports project needs in graphic/web design and communication within the Department of Operational Support. The role involves creating visual assets and communication materials to support the Office of Supply Chain Management's initiatives.


Tasks Summary
  • Design core identity products illustrating corporate vision, mission, and values.
  • Design and prepare content/copy for corporate briefings, presentations, fact sheets, and snapshots.
  • Support the development of websites, including layout, content, look and feel.
  • Provide design support across a range of print and online products.
  • Collaborate with the team to update and maintain the Services and Sections pages on SharePoint and iSeek.
  • Create a communication plan for Social Media Platforms.
  • Apply graphic design skills to enhance visual appeal and ensure consistency with organizational branding.
  • Incorporate interactive elements, icons, and layouts to make information more accessible.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify new communication methods.
  • Assist in creating templates or style guides for future communications.

Experience Requirements

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Knowledge of data analysis tools is desirable.


Qualification Requirements
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Have graduated with a university degree (as defined above). Pursuing studies and experiences in areas such as Adobe Photoshop; Adobe Illustrator; Canva Pro; etc.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.

Contract Duration: 3-6 months

Work Modality: In Person in New York or remote, full time or part-time modalities would be considered. Hybrid attendance or remote if the receiving entity agrees in writing.

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
