Overview

The Research and Policy Support Intern will provide support to policy and research initiatives, as well as operational and coordination tasks within the UN country office setting.

Tasks Summary

• Conduct desk reviews of UN frameworks, socioeconomic reports, and national strategies.
• Support drafting of analytical papers and policy briefs.
• Assist in integrating cross-sectoral analysis.
• Take and draft meeting minutes.
• Support background note preparation and data collection.
• Assist in ad hoc analytical tasks.
• Contribute to exploratory work on the application of large language models (LLMs).
• Support the design of templates, matrices, and structured analytical tools.

Experience Requirements

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
• Have graduated with a university degree.
• Be computer literate in standard software applications.
• Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations.
• Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
