Overview
Support the consolidation, generation, and institutionalization of information and methodologies on climate-related loss and damage in Argentina. This includes reviewing integration in UNFCCC instruments, developing a national reporting framework, and strengthening inter-institutional coordination to prepare Argentina’s first national annual loss and damage report and inputs to the Second Biennial Transparency Report.
Tasks Summary
- Review the approach to adaptation and loss and damage in mid- and long-term strategies and UNFCCC reports.
- Propose a work plan for the development of the first national annual report on loss and damage.
- Update the mapping of stakeholders, information providers, relevant studies, and training needs.
- Identify and facilitate inter-institutional agreements for loss and damage information exchange.
- Develop and propose loss and damage methodologies for prioritized sectors.
- Develop consultation meetings and training workshops.
- Develop the contents of the first national annual report and the second BTR on losses and damages.
- Develop dissemination material.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in projects related to climate change in Argentina, or related areas.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in adaptation perspective and/or loss and damage.
- Demonstrated understanding of Argentina’s national policy related to climate change and of national and international climate reports.
- Demonstrated experience in disaster risk (Desired).
- Demonstrated understanding of climate change policy within the Government of Argentina and stakeholders (Desired).
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, environmental sciences, political science, International Relations, Economics, Finance or a closely related field (Required).
- Master’s degree in finance, Economics, Sustainability, and/or Climate Change related (Required).
