Overview

Expert on NDC tracking to provide technical input for project deliverables and reports, working in close coordination with the National ICAT team leader and Project Coordinator.


Tasks Summary
  • Co-developing stocktaking reports, including mapping of data collection procedures, institutional arrangements, and key priorities for MRV systems, projections, and NDC tracking.
  • Co-developing validation workshop reports.
  • Developing reports on the identification of quantitative indicators for tracking NDC implementation progress and GHG reductions, including data gap analysis and templates for data collection.
  • Developing reports on the short list of indicators and proposed institutional arrangements for monitoring progress.
  • Developing NDC tracking reports based on the first assessment of selected indicators.
  • Co-developing final validation workshop and socialization of the framework.
  • Co-developing final project reports including lessons learned, key achievements, and potential for further development and/or replicability.
  • Providing technical input to the ICAT team on request throughout the project.

Experience Requirements
  • Proven working experience in climate/environment protection minimum 5 years.
  • Proven experience in working with diverse methodologies and tools for NDC tracking and climate indicators, especially those used for climate planning and reporting under the PA agreement, minimum 5 years.
  • Proven experience of working with international development projects, national and local stakeholder engagement related to climate mitigation, minimum 5 years.
  • Demonstrated experience in NDC stocktaking.
  • Good knowledge of mitigation policies, strategies, programs, in key sectors.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of key mitigation assessment methods and tools and NDC tracking tools.

Qualification Requirements
  • Advance university degree (Master’s or equivalent), preferably in the natural and social sciences.
  • A Bachelor degree with a relevant combination of four years of additional experience related to the position may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
