The project takes place in the Organisation "Verand Engagierte Zivilgesellschaft", which promotes social participation, diversity and civic engagement. We empower young people and adults and create opportunities for meeting, exchange and active involvement through workshops, events and educational formats, in cooperation with schools, associations, initiatives and local authorities in the region. Volunteers in the ESC take on meaningful and varied tasks: they support the planning and implementation of events, assist in facilitating workshops, contribute to social projects and leisure activities, and help with documentation and public relations (social media, photos, short reports). Volunteers are also welcome to develop and implement their own small initiatives. As part of the team, they contribute ideas, take responsibility for specific areas, join regular team meetings and receive structured onboarding and ongoing support—working on an equal footing with staff and volunteers. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Accommodation in a single room in a shared flat or an appartment. Use of bathroom and kitchen possible. Volunteers receive a public transport ticket for local public transportation. Training during the activity Volunteers take part in ESC training seminars as well as additional seminars organised by the Cologne Volunteer Agency, the leading organisation. Participant profile Applicants should enjoy working with young people and adults and show openness and tolerance towards different cultures and religions. They should be interested in office-based tasks and working with a computer, and be reliable, helpful, team-oriented and socially open. Knowledge of German and English. The minimum age is 20 years.
