Overview
The Anticipatory Action Project Manager role is responsible for the overall management of DRC’s anticipatory action project in Abyei, ensuring timely, effective, and high-quality implementation. The position supports the development of new anticipatory action initiatives.
Tasks Summary
- Lead day-to-day project delivery, ensuring activities are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Coordinate closely with support departments.
- Manage risks and conduct regular field monitoring.
- Oversee budget management, forecasting, expenditure tracking, and financial controls.
- Ensure accurate and timely narrative and financial reporting.
- Ensure reliable data collection, performance tracking, analysis of results, and continuous improvement.
- Support learning documentation, success stories, and visibility materials.
- Line-manage project staff, provide coaching and performance management, support staff development, ensure adequate staffing and operational resources, and promote staff well-being.
- Contribute to proposal development, budgeting, needs assessments, donor engagement, and strategic learning.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and programme expansion.
- Strengthen collaboration with other DRC projects and departments.
- Represent DRC in local coordination forums and support national-level engagement.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.
Experience Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience managing humanitarian, development, and/or peacebuilding projects in complex or fragile contexts, including team management.
- Strong experience in project cycle management, including proposal development, budget management, and donor reporting.
- Solid understanding of finance and supply chain processes.
- Previous experience in protection, peacebuilding, community-based approaches, conflict sensitivity, and/or conflict analysis is highly desirable.
- Experience in qualitative data collection and analysis.
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) in Peace/Security, Social Sciences, International Development, Business Management, or a related field.
