Overview
The Climate Change and Resilience Coordinator will lead and coordinate adaptation and climate resilience initiatives across Oxfam’s programme areas, ensuring effective programme management and impactful interventions.
Tasks Summary
- Lead the delivery of Oxfam’s resilience and recovery programme.
- Identify, develop, and manage a portfolio of local partners and their project activities.
- Coordinate and liaise with project partners and allies on joint activities.
- Support the capacity development of team members.
- Oversee implementation and reporting of Oxfam-led activities.
- Prepare and submit high-quality project reports.
- Serve as the technical lead for climate resilience and climate-adaptive livelihoods.
- Assess partner and stakeholder capacity needs and provide support.
- Build collaborations with key stakeholders.
- Provide technical inputs and leadership for new programme design.
- Represent Oxfam in coordination and cluster meetings.
- Engage with Oxfam teams, partners, and regional colleagues for funding, networking, and advocacy.
- Ensure all programme initiatives integrate a strong gender lens.
- Work closely with the Gender & Protection Advisor.
- Report to the line manager and coordinate with Oxfam’s Programme Quality Team for MEAL requirements.
- Facilitate knowledge and information management with partners.
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites and partners.
- Ensure full compliance with donor requirements and Oxfam’s financial management standards.
- Oversee financial monitoring of partner projects and internal budgets.
- Comply with all security policies, procedures, directions, instructions, regulations or plans.
- Take care of own safety and security.
- Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of security management policy and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies.
- Ensure completing all annual core compliance courses.
- Report any concerns or witness or suspect any behaviour that could be in breach of the one Oxfam safeguarding policy or Oxfam Code of Conduct.
- Perform assigned tasks to contribute to an efficient and timely emergency response in case of emergency response.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in similar roles within complex, multi-partner programmes.
- Proven ability to build networks and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including donors, INGOs, and CSOs.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering training, mentoring, and coaching to local CSOs for capacity strengthening and organizational development.
- Experience in humanitarian and fragile contexts, including recovery and resilience programming (Desirable/Preferred).
- Proven understanding of gender equality, women’s rights, and gender mainstreaming within climate and livelihood programmes (Desirable/Preferred).
- Familiarity with Oxfam’s approaches, including the Just Climate and Sustainable Livelihoods Strategy (Desirable/Preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to programme design, proposal development, and resource mobilization (Desirable/Preferred).
- Experience working in multi-cultural teams and engaging effectively with diverse local partners (Desirable/Preferred).
Qualification Requirements
• University degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Rural Development, or another relevant field.
