Overview
The assignment aims to establish a National Framework for Measuring and Reporting the Socioeconomic Contribution of Space Activities for Brazil. The consultant will conceptualize and design a statistical methodology for this framework.
Tasks Summary
- Review international best practices for measuring the economic and societal impact of space activities.
- Conceptually design a national measurement framework for the Brazilian space economy.
- Develop quantitative and qualitative indicators and statistical estimation frameworks.
- Design a data strategy for collecting, harmonizing, and validating relevant data.
- Design a reporting and communication framework for socioeconomic contributions.
- Conduct capacity building and knowledge transfer for staff.
- Ensure all relevant documentation is saved in a shared online folder.
Experience Requirements
- At least five (5) years working experience in statistics, space sector or related economics, policy and industry domains is required.
- Knowledge of international statistical standards and framework, national accounts, sectoral statistics, and/or economic impact measurement is required.
- Experience working with governments, international organizations, or national statistical offices is desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in space economy measurement is desirable.
- Knowledge of the Brazilian space ecosystem is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in economics, statistics, econometrics, business, public policy, engineering or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
