Overview
Provide technical oversight, coordination, and institutional support for the implementation of On-Site Electrolytic Chlorination (OSEC) in Choma. The role involves ensuring infrastructure and staff readiness, strengthening the salt supply chain, facilitating coordination, supporting commissioning, and leading knowledge transfer for sustainability and scale-up.
Tasks Summary
- Provide technical oversight, coordination and institutional support for the successful and effective implementation of the OSEC in Choma.
- Work in close coordination with the equipment supplier and SWASCO to ensure infrastructure and staff readiness, salt supply chain strengthening.
- Facilitate coordination between the supplier and SWASCO.
- Support commissioning.
- Lead knowledge transfer for long-term sustainability and scale up.
Experience Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in water quality management.
- Demonstrated experience with the deployment or management of On-Site Electrolytic Chlorination (OSEC) or equivalent technologies.
- Experience working with water utilities in Zambia or Southern Africa is desirable.
- Familiarity with the Zambian Water Utility and Water Sector institutional setup is an advantage.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, documentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organisation is considered an asset.
Qualification Requirements
- University degree in a relevant field such as Water Resources Management, Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Education, or a related social science.
- A master’s an added advantage.
