Overview

Provide high-level technical leadership in finalizing Zambia’s Safely Managed Sanitation (SMS) Action Plan, ensuring alignment with national and international standards. Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the sanitation landscape and provide actionable recommendations for sectoral strengthening.

Tasks Summary

• Finalize Zambia’s Safely Managed Sanitation (SMS) Action Plan.
• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the sanitation landscape.
• Critically review existing policies and strategies, including the ODF strategy.
• Provide actionable recommendations for sectoral strengthening.
• Develop targeted learning notes.
• Facilitate strategic stakeholder engagements.
• Provide technical input into the national stakeholder coordination framework.

Experience Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in water and sanitation programming.
• Strong understanding of safely managed sanitation in Zambia’s context at various levels.
• Experience in policy analysis and development.
• Experience in Strategy formulation.
• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered an asset.

Qualification Requirements

• Master’s degree in water, Sanitation or Hygiene, public health, environmental science or related fields.
