Overview
The Senior Project Associate will coordinate and strengthen protection assistance for vulnerable migrants, with a focus on the AVRR programme. The role involves providing specialized counselling, supporting staff and partners through capacity-building, and ensuring effective identification, protection, and assistance of vulnerable migrants.
Tasks Summary
- Independently lead and coordinate project implementation and monitor activities.
- Research, compile, analyse, and present information/data on national, regional, and international developments.
- Monitor budget expenditures and verify fund availability.
- Coordinate and monitor financial, administrative, and technical aspects of the project.
- Provide technical guidance for drafting concept notes, project narratives, and work plans.
- Collaborate with units to identify new funding opportunities.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct capacity-building workshops.
- Participate in meetings and maintain liaison with stakeholders.
- Coordinate the preparation of correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Identify and document good practices and lessons learned.
- Supervise and provide guidance and training to reporting staff.
Experience Requirements
- Seven years of relevant experience with a school diploma; or, five years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
- Demonstrated experience in project development, resource mobilization, and managing protection or assistance projects.
- Experience in capacity-building and training for staff, government stakeholders, and community partners.
- Experience in multi-sectoral assistance and needs assessments for vulnerable groups.
- Skills in developing training programs, workshops, and informational materials.
- Experience in external communication, including report writing, presentations, and liaising with partners and donors.
- Prior work with international organizations, NGOs, or government institutions in multi-cultural settings is an advantage.
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualification Requirements
• School diploma; or, Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
