Overview
The Social Worker will assist in the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities, providing medical, nursing, and psychosocial support services to asylum seekers and beneficiaries of temporary protection.
Tasks Summary
- Daily monitoring and supervision of services provided by service provider(s).
- Cooperate with medical and psychosocial teams on day-to-day activities.
- Keep supervisor informed on challenges and escalations.
- Ensure duties are in accordance with IOM's internal rules and regulations and SOPs.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments to migrants and refugees.
- Address needs of vulnerable groups and refer cases for further treatment.
- Follow up on protection cases and ensure quality case management.
- Maintain comprehensive and updated case files.
- Inform and update beneficiaries on case progress.
- Ensure cases are recorded and updated in the project database.
- Map services on-site and off-site and ensure access for migrants and refugees.
- Develop individual action plans for migrants and refugees.
- Support organization and participation in team meetings.
- Escort beneficiaries to public health facilities if requested.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
- Familiarity with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees an advantage.
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment.
Qualification Requirements
- University degree in Social Work from an accredited academic institution.
- License to practice social work.
- Master’s degree in Social Work an advantage.
- Membership with the Association of Greek Social Workers would be an advantage.
