FAIRbund e.V. FAIRbund e.V. Kindergarten Zwergenland Volunteer opportunity: Volunterring in the Kindergarten Zwergenland for 10-12 months
The kindergarten was newly built in 2010. The architectural style with wood reflects the nature pedagogical concept. The kindergarten welcomes 90 children aged 3-6 years in 5 groups of 18 children. The kindergarten has a complete open pedagogical concept - meaning the children have the freedom to choose everyday in which of the rooms they want to play. Outside there is a nice area with trees, different play instruments, sand, places to seat and a big terrace which invites playing outside. Children can attend this kindergarten within their third year of life. The volunteer works normally from 8/9 am till 3 p.m. (6 hours). The kindergarten has the capacity to take a few children with special needs. This kindergarten is located on the same territory with another kindergarten for smaller kids, so they both create a big kids' space with two gardens. The task of the volunteer is to support educators in their work and to help children aged 3 to 6 to explore the world via small activities. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Normally all the volunteers live in shared flats: have their own room but share a kitchen and a bathroom with 3 other volunteers. The monthly allowance of 558 € includes food&pocket money&transportation monthly ticket and is paid out on the same day of each month. We can arrange an opening of a banking account if you need that. If you stay for 12 months you have 24 holiday days. Instead of a monthly ticket you can buy a bike and sell it by the same price at the end of the service. Leipzig is a nice city to ride a bike. If you wish we can as well try to organize a host family. Training during the activity We will help you find a German language course which fits your needs and level. During tyour stay you attend an on-arrival (7 days) and mid-term seminar (5 days), organized by the German National Agency, where you meet other volunteers volunteering in Germany this year. The volunteering can start beginning of may and can stay between 10 and 12 months. Participant profile Are you 18-30? Do you love working with children? Are you creative, open-minded?
