Tasks Summary

Are you ready to make a real difference while experiencing Portugal’s diverse culture? Our 152-day project, spanning four vibrant youth areas—Bragança, Braga, Sanguedo, and Guimarães—offers a unique opportunity to empower communities and grow as a leader. What You’ll Do: Bragança: Support isolated elderly, refugees, migrants, and the LGBTIQA+ community. Braga: Work with children, homeless individuals, and people recovering from addiction, while engaging with the Roma community and international projects. Sanguedo: Collaborate with a daycare, Roma community, and animal shelter. Guimarães: Help at the kids, elders, homeless people, social shop and organize the food basket for families. All locations include shared tasks like managing a social shop and distributing essential goods. Why Join Us? Apply now :) Accommodation, food and transport arrangements The project will provide: - Accomodation; - Money for food (depending on the local Branches) Training during the activity National Networking: Meet other Red Cross volunteers across Portugal during two inspiring training sessions. Inter-Delegation Project: Collaborate with your group to create and implement a project in a delegation of your choice. Personal Development: Develop your own project in an area you’re passionate about. Participant profile We are looking for motivated young people aged 18 to 30, especially those with fewer opportunities (economic, geographic, educational, cultural or social). The ideal volunteer is someone who is autonomous, proactive and empathetic, with the willingness to engage in new experiences, learn from others and adapt to different cultural contexts. Previous experience is not required – what matters most is an open attitude, curiosity, and motivation to contribute actively to the project and to the community. Volunteers should be ready to take initiative, work both independently and in a team, and show sensitivity and respect towards people from diverse backgrounds. (Only candidates from Wales)
