Overview

The Safety & Wellness Intern will support IRC’s Safety & Wellness Program in providing mental health and psychosocial support services to clients with identified mental and emotional health needs.

Tasks Summary

• Provide mental health case management services and basic supportive counseling to a small caseload of clients.
• Support the implementation of S&W support groups and workshops.
• Provide on-site MHPSS services to IRC’s New Comer Summer Academy.
• Support with ongoing S&W projects including community needs assessments, resource mapping, and partnership-building.

Experience Requirements

• Interest or experience working with forcibly displaced and/or immigrant communities.
• Interest or experience in providing case management services and familiarity with mental health systems.

Qualification Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a master’s program in social work, mental health, and/or public health.
• Must be enrolled in post-secondary institution or have graduated from a post-secondary institution within last 2 years.

Languages Required: Professional proficiency in an additional language

Languages Preferred: Spanish, Ukrainian, Russian, and French highly preferred
