Overview
The Information Management Specialist will establish and operate a user-friendly data-management system to support program implementation in Sudan. This role will also focus on standardizing and centralizing information management workflows and ensuring data accessibility and visualization for stakeholders.
Tasks Summary
- Establish and operate a user-friendly data-management system.
- Support the implementation of mobile technology for data collection.
- Enter, store, and present data to support analysis.
- Conduct reviews for information management system gaps.
- Build and sustain a workflow for information management aligned with Global SCI project management system.
- Advocate for unified and standardized naming conventions.
- Standardize and improve databases and information management practices.
- Ensure data management systems are linked to centralized dashboards.
- Standardize activity naming conventions and indicators.
- Build a unified database for historical data.
- Ensure service and activity mapping is available to stakeholders.
- Ensure country office has access to up-to-date population and displacement statistics.
- Ensure key programmatic information is available in an effective format for dissemination.
- Work on infographic software to increase quality and frequency of data presentation.
- Focus on innovative methods of presenting data.
- Facilitate communications between the country office and global data initiatives.
- Take part in global information management initiatives.
- Support learning and training needs of staff and partners in analysis.
- Build the capacity of IM focal points.
- Support or lead capacity building of data clerks and program personnel.
- Provide technical support and guidance to field IM and MEAL teams.
- Respond to data requests of different functions.
- Support the work of the Sn. Learning Specialist on data analysis.
- Lead or provide support during the development of annual reach calculations.
- Support MEAL teams and implementing partner staff in the design, development, roll out, and maintenance of additional data management tools.
- Work with other supporting functions to provide information management solutions.
- Promote innovation and adoption of best practices in IM.
- Perform human error checks and data audits.
- Verify the overall number of beneficiaries.
- Investigate discrepancies in the data.
- Conduct granular examination of data quality.
- Confirm proper data archiving.
- Compare total beneficiaries reached with community/camp population.
- Assess unique beneficiary count against population limits.
