Overview

Oxfam Syria is seeking a Driver to ensure the safety of colleagues and visitors, maintain vehicles, and adhere to safety and security protocols.

Tasks Summary

• Ensure the safety of colleagues and visitors.
• Maintain vehicles in good working order.
• Drive at a safe and legal speed.
• Report accidents and technical failures.
• Follow Safety and Security protocols.
• Ensure correct loading and unloading of the vehicle.
• Keep the vehicle clean and road-worthy.
• Complete the vehicle logbook.
• Ensure necessary vehicle documents are present and up to date.
• Track scheduled vehicle service times.
• Assist in small local purchases and general logistic activities.
• Log daily fuel consumption and travel reports.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Preferably within NGOs, INGOs, or corporate professional organizations.
• Experience working with international NGOs or humanitarian organizations is preferred.
• Proven experience driving in difficult or remote areas, including urban and rural environments, and in conflict-affected regions.
• Experience with vehicle fleet management, including assisting in basic vehicle maintenance, inspection, and pre-trip checks.

Qualification Requirements

• Secondary school certificate or equivalent.
• A valid Syrian driver’s license appropriate for the vehicles used (Public Transportation License e.g., light vehicles, 4x4s, Van …etc.).

Other Details

Languages Required: Proficiency in Arabic and basic knowledge of English is mandatory.

Languages Preferred: Ability to understand and follow simple instructions in English, including labels and safety guidelines.
