Overview
The Reporting Specialist – Strategic Results will lead integrated results reporting for the Subregional Office for West Africa (SFW) by structuring evidence collection, assuring quality of narratives and metrics, and delivering clear, strategic writing that maps achievements and lessons to FAO’s Four Betters and Programme Priority Areas.
Tasks Summary
- Coordinate SFW contributions to FAO-wide reporting products (PIR, MTR, FAWR, CAR, RSR, PBR Memo).
- Use PIRES and FPMIS Advanced Reports to extract delivery data and ensure consistency.
- Serve as rapporteur for PTF sessions and draft minutes and action trackers.
- Produce concise, compelling narratives mapped to the Four Betters.
- Maintain SFW results registers and dashboards; configure FPMIS/PIRES queries.
- Provide analytical and technical inputs in the review and finalization of proposals drafted by technical teams.
- Maintain an up-to-date tracking list of progress and final reports for FAO projects and ensure the timely clearance of draft project (progress and final) reports.
- Inform project managers of when reports are coming due and follow-up to ensure reports are received in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance and leadership to enhance the reporting system to ensure reliable, accurate and timely reporting at all levels and for all projects and programmes implemented by SFW.
- Prepare SFW led project reports based on information provided by project technical and operations staff, finalize (interim and final) reports and briefs, and submit them for approval to SRC.
- Provide critical inputs and analysis into draft reporting submitted from technical teams.
- Review and edit reports and publications to ensure adherence to FAO Standards and Guidelines.
- Provide analytical and technical inputs in writing, proof reading and editing donor briefs and success stories.
- Perform other related duties, as requested.
- Coordinate with the communications teams on strategic aspects that need visibility support.
Experience Requirements
At least 5 years of relevant experience in results-based management/reporting within the UN or development sector.
Qualification Requirements
Advanced university degree (Master) in public policy, economics, agriculture, development studies, M&E, communications or related field.
