Overview

Provides expert GIS support to Project 170049, focusing on data management systems, web-based mapping applications, and data integration.

Tasks Summary
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of geospatial data management systems.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of web-based mapping applications and dashboards.
  • Collect, input, edit, and maintain spatial and attribute data.
  • Provide technical guidance on GIS software and web applications.
  • Assist with the integration of GIS data with other databases and systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date electronic filing system and databases related to GIS work.
  • Prepare final report and contribute to ad-hoc assignments and research activities.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year of working experience in Geographic Information Systems, administration or coordination, is required.
  • Experience with GIS software, including ArcPro, ArcGIS Online and QGIS, is required.
  • Experience and proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), is required.
  • Experience in office procedures and practices, preferably within the UN system or in a multicultural environment, is desirable.
  • Experience in project administration, accounting and finance, providing support to managerial/professional staff and using administrative skills to assist in the execution of project development and implementation of work, is desirable.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP software is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
  • Advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in economics, engineering, sciences, business administration, or other relevant discipline is required.
  • Alternatively, a first level university degree or an advanced technical college diploma may be acceptable provided it is combined with additional 1 year of professional hand-on experience that is directly relevant to the expertise required by the specific assignment.
  • Completed university degree with a significant portion of study in Geographic Information Systems is desirable.

Languages Required: • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Languages Preferred: • Fluency and/or working knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.

Contract Duration: 63 working days over a period
