Overview

The Programme Policy Officer (Resilience and Food Systems) role involves a wide variety of programme and policy activities and analytical work with considerable complexity, contributing to performance improvement and ensuring programme and policy objectives are achieved.

Tasks Summary

• Identify and engage government MINADER/Food Systems convenor, for co-development and alignment of activities.
• Contribute to the elaboration of funding proposals for resilience-enabled, climate-smart food systems projects.
• Support capacity strengthening of WFP staff, partners, and local stakeholders.
• Establish research and evaluation components, generate learning outputs, and support performance monitoring.
• Support external messaging, stakeholder workshops, and high-level positioning of WFP.
• Monitor resilience and food system activities in collaboration with RCO and other UN agencies.
• Monitor efficient financial management as the lead agency.
• Contribute to proposals formulation and integrate cross-cutting themes.
• Promote cohesive implementation across CONVERGEFOOD Activities.
• Deliver timely reports for decision-making.
• Maintain thorough documentation of activities and outcomes.

Experience Requirements

Qualification Requirements

Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.

Languages Required: • Fluency (level C) in English language. • Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or Portuguese (a WFP working language). • Fluency (level C) in English language and the duty station’s language, if different
