Overview

The Assistant Social Protection Officer will support advocacy efforts with the government for the inclusion of refugees in national social protection schemes and contribute to broader socioeconomic inclusion efforts, including financial inclusion.

Tasks Summary

• Support advocacy efforts with the government for the inclusion of refugees in national social protection schemes.
• Contribute to broader socioeconomic inclusion efforts, including financial inclusion.
• Support the inclusion of refugees in targeting exercises conducted through the national Social Registry.
• Provide strategic messaging and analytical input to UNHCR senior management and other partners engaged in national dialogues on social protection and economic inclusion.
• Represent UNHCR in technical working groups on social protection, including the Economic Inclusion Working Group, as well as in government-led events, inter-agency meetings, and workshops.

Experience Requirements

1 year relevant experience with Undergraduate degree; or no experience with Graduate degree; or no experience with Doctorate degree. Knowledge of International Refugee and Human Rights Law and ability to apply the relevant legal principles.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor of Arts: International Law, Bachelor of Arts: Law, Bachelor of Arts: Political Science or other relevant field.
