Project Assistant – Relocation & Integration

Overview

Support countrywide institutional coordination for the Venezuelan migrant relocation strategy programme and design, support, and monitor activities for the social and economic integration of assisted Venezuelan migrants and refugees.

Tasks Summary
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
  • Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyze, and present information/data on specific project topics.
  • Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information.
  • Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation.
  • Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery, and suggest remedial actions.
  • Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation, and other forms of documentation.
  • Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organize meetings, workshops and training sessions.
  • Participate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
  • Assist in monitoring work of implementing partners and report non-compliance to the supervisor.
  • Provides guidance/training to new/junior staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
  • Five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in liaising with Brazilian Government agencies, national/international institutions, United Nations Agencies and nongovernmental organizations.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience and skills is mandatory.
  • Experience in project management, including managing social and economic integration, livelihoods, microfinance or other integration projects with a government or UN agency, or a regional or international organization.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong working relations with relevant Government counterparts, international organizations and private sector entities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good knowledge of project management, monitoring and evaluation principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with budget/financial administration; proven resource management skills.
Qualification Requirements
  • Master’s degree in economics, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business Management, International Relations, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or
  • University degree in the above fields.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in Portuguese and Spanish is required (oral and written).

Languages Preferred: • Working knowledge in English is a distinct advantage

Contract Duration: • Special Short Term Graded (Up to 9 months) • Initial Contract Duration: 3 months
