Overview

The DTM Reporting Intern – Analytics, Knowledge and Output will support the quality control of DTM analytic outputs worldwide and contribute to global thematic workstreams.

Tasks Summary

• Provide support in analysis and interpretation of data.
• Facilitate the logistical organization of webinars.
• Provide updates on human mobility trends, changes and any other significant observations.
• Assist in the production and quality control of documents.
• Coordinate with other units of the global DTM support team.
• Provide administrative and logistical support to the London team.
• Provide support in analysis and interpretation of data as well as in review of DTM documents.
• Assist in the refinement of DTM’s data collection methodologies and questionnaires.
• Support technical training of other staff.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned.

Experience Requirements

• Less than two years of relevant working experience.
• Experience using data visualization and publication software such as the Adobe suite (Illustrator and InDesign).
• Experience drafting analytic outputs.
• Experience in quantitative research methods.
• Advantageous: Experience or demonstrable interest in one or more of the global thematic workstreams.
• Advantageous: Experience organizing webinars, training sessions and other events.
• Advantageous: Experience working with R (programming language), including at least three of the following.
• Advantageous: Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS/QGIS.
• Advantageous: Experience with other coding languages (e.g. Python) and relational databases (inc.SQL).
• Advantageous: Experience in qualitative research methods.

Qualification Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited academic institution in a field of study related to Economics / Development Economics, Data Science, Political Science, Social Science, Development Studies, Public health, Epidemiology or other relevant disciplines with a significant quantitative component.
• Alternatively, a bachelor’s/undergraduate degree in the abovementioned fields with demonstrable relevant working experience.
• Applicants must be either enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent), enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or have graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within one year of graduation.
• Applicants must be between 20 and 36 years of age.

Remuneration: Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs.
