Overview
The Programme Associate will support the implementation of migration management activities in the Federated States of Micronesia, with a primary focus on coordinating counter trafficking interventions. The position will assist in planning, coordination, monitoring and reporting, and will support the broader project portfolio.
Tasks Summary
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of programme activities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyze, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information.
- Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation.
- Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery, and suggest remedial actions.
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation and other forms of documentation.
- Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organize meetings, workshops and training sessions.
- Participate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders.
- Assist in monitoring work of implementing partners and report non-compliances.
- Provides guidance/training to new/junior staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Five years of relevant experience with a school diploma; or, three years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in project implementation, with demonstrated involvement in counter trafficking, protection, migration or community engagement work.
- Direct experience engaging with communities, traditional leaders, women’s groups, youth groups and civil society organizations.
- Experience organizing and facilitating community outreach, awareness raising activities, consultations or trainings.
- Experience working with government partners, service providers and frontline stakeholders.
- Strong background in coordinating field work, collecting community level feedback and supporting culturally sensitive programming.
- Familiarity with migration management concepts and survivor centred or Trauma based approaches is an advantage.
Qualification Requirements
- School diploma
- Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution
