Overview

The Investment Associate - Urban/Water will support public-sector operations in Region 1 by assisting Project Team Leads in project preparation, execution, and client relationship management, with a focus on urban and/or water sectors.

Tasks Summary

• Conduct research on country-specific sectoral, industry, and market topics, focusing on urban or water sectors.
• Analyze borrowers’ sector demands and support the identification of potential projects.
• Conduct early screening of potential investment opportunities.
• Support investment due diligence, ensuring key considerations are analyzed.
• Assess the sustainability of urban- and/or water-sector projects.
• Support the preparation of project documents for reviews, appraisals, and approvals.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of investments.

Experience Requirements

3-5 years of relevant work experience in the field of urban or water sector, ideally within government agencies, professional/engineering/consulting firms, and/or international financial institutions, with a proven record of project development and implementation.

Qualification Requirements

Master’s degree, with a specialization in urban planning, environmental or sanitary engineering, climate change or disaster risk management, public policy, or related fields.

Other Details

Languages Required: Proficient in oral and written English.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of a language spoken in AIIB’s regions of operation would be an advantage.
