Overview

Responsible for Livelihoods and Food Security interventions in the Amhara area, providing technical advice and training to beneficiaries, and ensuring project compliance with standards.

Tasks Summary
  • Monitor and report on project activities and ensure compliance with plans and NRC standards.
  • Suggest new methods and approaches to improve activity quality.
  • Carry out data collection and prepare/file relevant documents.
  • Provide technical advice and training on income generating activities and livelihoods.
  • Liaise with woreda level offices and partners for cohesion and synergy.
  • Empower communities to manage their issues and sustain projects.
  • Ensure equal participation by all segments of communities, considering gender, age, disability, and clan affiliation.
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance and provide timely inputs and feedback.
  • Play an important role in realizing project outputs and outcomes.
  • Ensure NRC objectives are disseminated and raise awareness of NRC's approach.
  • Actively participate in beneficiary selection, validation, registration, and distribution.
  • Contribute to preparing and implementing annual and quarterly work plans.
  • Report project monitoring details and monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Conduct relevant training on community mobilization, Livelihoods, and Food Security.
  • Represent NRC at relevant meetings at kebele, IDPs, and woreda levels.
  • Conduct regular stakeholder analyses.
  • Raise PR’s through “AGRESSO” and ensure financial accountability.
  • Manage financial management, documentation, and payments as per NRC Financial Rule.
  • Ensure financial systems are followed and financial reports are accurate.
  • Ensure productive engagement between finance and program teams.
Experience Requirements
  • 3 years of experience working as a Project Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
Qualification Requirements

• BSc degree in Agricultural Economics, Rural Development and other Agricultural related fields.
