Overview

The Project Officer will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of project activities, particularly the promotion of tablet-based learning in primary schools, and will deliver project activities in accordance with the Detailed Implementation Plan.

Tasks Summary
  • Carry out daily/weekly planning and oversee rollout of tablet-based learning initiatives.
  • Coordinate with head of schools, teachers, and IT staff to integrate tablets into daily teaching.
  • Organize and facilitate capacity-building workshops for teachers on digital pedagogy and tablet use.
  • Provide ongoing technical and instructional support to teachers.
  • Develop user-friendly guides and resources for classroom integration.
  • Track student engagement and learning outcomes through digital platforms.
  • Collect and analyse data on usage, performance, and challenges.
  • Prepare progress reports for the project, education authorities and donors.
  • Track project progress against indicators and monthly and quarterly deliverables.
  • Ensure procurement, distribution, and maintenance of tablets.
  • Implement inventory control systems to prevent loss or misuse.
  • Coordinate with IT teams for software updates, troubleshooting, and security.
  • Conduct risk and asset management training for schools.
  • Conduct community meetings and stakeholders’ engagement and document.
  • Act as a liaison between schools, government, NGOs, and parents.
  • Communicate project goals, progress, and challenges clearly to stakeholders.
  • Foster community buy-in to support digital learning adoption.
  • Ensure compliance with child protection, data privacy, and digital safety policies.
  • Align project activities with national ICT in education strategies.
  • Report any safeguarding and child protection issues.
  • Provide other skills training, career guidance, leadership training and mentorship.
  • Liaise with PIIA Manager, Line Manager and Sector Specialists to ensure reports are submitted for project reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance digital content and interactive learning.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned across the school.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews and document lessons learned.
  • Establish proper filing of project documents for reference and knowledge management.
