Overview
To drive DRC vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with DRC policy and national safety rules and regulations. The driver will be responsible for the vehicle to which they are assigned and the completion of log books and fuel records.
Tasks Summary
- Drive DRC vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Drive defensively and respect traffic rules and speed limits.
- Comply with DRC security rules.
- Ensure correct loading and offloading of the vehicle.
- Ensure security of the vehicle and keys.
- Keep informed of security on the expected itinerary.
- Inform the Office team of departure, intended destination, and remain in contact.
- Maintain confidentiality of internal information on staff movement.
- Ensure non-DRC staff are not allowed to use DRC vehicles without prior approval.
- Ensure all safety equipment is in place and working well.
- Ensure all persons in the car are using their safety belts.
- Keep vehicles clean, refuelled, and properly maintained.
- Report any irregularities or accidents immediately.
- Keep records for mileage driven/fuel added and maintain the vehicle logbook.
- Check road license and other certificates and notify supervisor for renewal.
- Always maintain a valid driving licence.
Experience Requirements
3-5 years of professional driving.
Qualification Requirements
- A minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (UACE).
- Possession of a valid, full driving license with a clean record.
