Overview
The GBV Case Worker provides direct, confidential, and survivor-centred case management services to survivors of gender-based violence under the supervision of the Protection Team Leader. The role ensures survivors receive timely psychosocial support, safe referrals, and follow-up services.
Tasks Summary
- Develop/strengthen relationships with agencies at the field level.
- Provide survivor-centered GBV case management, including intake, assessment, safety planning, referrals, follow-up, and case closure.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop individualized action plans with survivors.
- Support survivors to access medical, legal, psychosocial, protection, and livelihood services.
- Manage emergency and high-risk cases.
- Represent DRC in relevant field-based case management meetings.
- Maintain and strengthen existing networks with service providers.
- Identify and strengthen Community structures.
- Contribute to the quality and timely drafting of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
- Ensure GBV case management procedures adhere to protection standards and principles.
- Participate in case conferences and supervision meetings.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential GBV case files.
- Ensure all registered GBV cases are timely updated in Profile Global Registration System – Version 4 (ProGres V4) and GBV case trackers.
- Identify, document and disseminate relevant project success, challenges, and follow up on implementation of project’s action points.
- Assist in participatory needs/vulnerability and capacity assessments of affected communities.
- Provide technical support and guidance on GBV case management for GBV community-based structures.
- Uphold DRC’s code of conduct and principles of accountability.
- Proactively plan and coordinate logistics and movement.
- Follow-up all DRC’s procedures for security, Finance, Logistics, HR and Administration.
- On request, perform any other additional duties assigned by the supervisors.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years’ working experience in GBV case management or protection programming.
- Experience of working with UN or Non‐Governmental organizations.
- Familiarity with UNHCR ProGres V4 Module.
- Desirable: Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation for UN-funded projects.
- Desirable: Experience working with survivors of violence in humanitarian or community settings.
Qualification Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social sciences, Development studies, Gender studies, Community Psychology, or Guidance and counselling.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Basic counselling skills and case management.
- Ability to Ride a motorcycle with Valid Riding Permit.
