Overview

This internship provides support to the Capacity Development Programme Management Office (CDPMO) within the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA). The role assists in the formulation and implementation of capacity development strategies and promotes coherence in DESA's capacity development work.

Tasks Summary

• Assisting in and contributing to project management and coordination, in the areas of financial for development, public institutions and sustainable development;
• Assisting in research, drafting and preparing analytical documents;
• Assisting in the organization of conferences, workshops, meetings or other collaborative events, including internal documentation preparations;
• Assisting in data and statistics collecting and sorting;
• Other assigned work by the Head of Office.

Experience Requirements

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualification Requirements

• be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
• be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset.

Contract Duration: 3 months

Work Modality: flexible working arrangements (telecommuting)

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
