Overview

The UNV Nutrition Officer will support UNICEF's Nutrition and ECD programming by ensuring effective partner coordination, reporting, and supply tracking. The role contributes to the smooth implementation and monitoring of nutrition, IYCF, IMAM, and ECD in emergency interventions.

Tasks Summary
  • Be responsible for data quality related to nutrition and Early Childhood Development (ECD), including quality control, data collection, cleaning, and analysis.
  • Ensure timely reporting and monitoring of relevant indicators on Activity Info and monitor partners’ Activity Info data reporting.
  • Contribute to internal reports, donor reports, and development and revision of Annual Work Plan indicators.
  • Coordinate with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and other relevant ministries and the Nutrition sector to organize and follow up on nutrition and ECD trainings and meetings.
  • Ensure effective follow-up and tracking of nutrition supplies by coordinating closely with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the Nutrition sector.
  • Contribute to the development of concept notes on ECD and nutrition projects for calls for proposals.
  • Assist in ECD and nutrition-related Project Development with UNICEF partners.
  • Support quality assurance of projects implemented by partners through regular programmatic visits and participation in review meetings.
  • Gather evidence, including media reports, studies, and news on ECD and nutrition.
  • Engage in regular internal and external meetings.
  • Provide technical and administrative support for Nutrition and ECD in emergency interventions.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 3 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in health and nutrition programmes, primary health care, community engagement or other relevant programmes.
  • Experience with Nutrition oriented I/NGOs, UN agencies or international development agencies is an asset.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, and Child development and growth.
  • Bachelor’s and or master’s degree in Nutrition or public health.

Languages Preferred: • French, Level: Basic, Desirable

Contract Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)

Work Modality: Onsite

Remuneration: • Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) USD 1,606.56
