Overview

The Gender and Human Rights Analyst will support the integration of gender and human rights-based approaches in the Country Programme, contributing to efforts in promoting gender equality with a focus on improved access to comprehensive sexuality education, adolescent-friendly sexual and reproductive health services, and prevention of gender-based violence.

Tasks Summary
  • Strengthen the integration of Gender and Human Rights-based approach in programmes/projects.
  • Support the delivery of training programs on human rights and gender equality.
  • Contribute to capacity development of service providers working in adolescent sexual and reproductive health.
  • Support the office in drafting talking points, key messages, and reports/policy briefs for advocacy.
  • Technically contribute to the review of Government’s mandatory reports relevant to UNFPA’s mandate.
  • Support the monitoring of the programme, with focus on adolescents and youths, and gender/social norms.
  • Ensure that all indicators are quality assured, and gender disaggregation is done whenever necessary.
  • Collect data/evidence on results attained, identify challenges, document and share good practices and lessons learned.
  • Contribute to the planning process of workplans.
  • Assist in drafting narrative and statistical reports on progress, lessons learned, and recommendations.
  • Support community sensitization activities on social and gender norms and the prevention of harmful practices.
  • Facilitate dialogue with groups of adolescents, families, and communities to promote behavioural change.
  • Ensure that right holders actively participate in all steps of the programming.
  • Contribute to the office’s meetings, annual reviews, and planning meetings with partners and stakeholders.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Gender Studies, Human Rights, Social Sciences, Public Health, International Development

Other Details

Languages Required: English, Level: Fluent, Required

Languages Preferred: Portuguese, Level: Working knowledge, Desirable

Contract Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)
