Overview

The Migration Health Physician will be responsible for ensuring the efficient daily operations of the Migration Health Assessment Center (MHAC) and conducting migration health assessments to meet the technical requirements of resettlement countries.

Tasks Summary
  • Conduct migration health assessments including medical examinations, imaging, laboratory testing, vaccinations, TB management, treatment and referrals, pre-departure procedures, and documentation.
  • Ensure proper identification of refugees and migrants and accurate recording of health information.
  • Perform treatment for TB and sexually transmitted infections, and provide support for HIV and counselling activities.
  • Oversee and coordinate TB case management, immunization, and presumptive treatment programs.
  • Contribute to and maintain a system of quality improvement for MHAC services.
  • Ensure implementation of global IOM SOPs and create specific SOPs for each service area.
  • Organize systematic collection, processing, and analysis of migration health data.
  • Provide periodic and ad-hoc reporting on Migration Health activities.
  • Ensure data is entered into MiMOSA and other related databases.
  • Oversee financial aspects of the MHAC, including budget preparation and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate procurement of medical equipment, vaccines, medications, and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Experience Requirements
  • At least four years of professional work experience.
  • Professional continuous clinical experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary hospital setting.
  • Last clinical posting should be within the last three years.
  • Good knowledge of clinical medicine.
  • Excellent bedside manner.
  • Knowledge of patient safety and infection prevention and control.
  • Proven expertise or post-graduate diploma/degree in clinical specialization in pediatrics, pulmonology, or emergency medicine is an advantage.
  • Proven expertise or post-graduate diploma/degree in clinical specialization in internal medicine is an advantage.
  • Proven clinical expertise and/or specialization in public health, health care administration, or healthcare management is an advantage.
  • Proven master trainer experience is an advantage.
Qualification Requirements
  • University degree in Medicine from an accredited academic institution.
  • Valid license to practice within country is mandatory.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Proficiency in English. • Working knowledge of one additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish). • Fluency in English and French (oral and written).
