Overview

The Branch Head, Standardization Support/Executive Officer is responsible for the financial management, personnel, organizational issues, and overall administration and security of the NATO Standardization Office (NSO). This role supports the Director NSO in managerial, supervisory, and coordination functions for the efficient operation of the Branch.

Tasks Summary
  • Planning, directing and supervising the work of the Branch.
  • Ensuring efficient and effective running of the NSO Information and Knowledge management Programme.
  • Overseeing efficient and effective use of ICT for standardization management support.
  • Managing the development, implementation, operation and maintenance of standardization business applications.
  • Vetting STANAGs and APs in both official languages.
  • Assisting in the coordination of NATO procedures for the development and production of NATO standards.
  • Establishing and maintaining NSO’s administrative procedures and overall efficiency of the Office’s administration.
  • Ensuring all incoming correspondence is reviewed and distributed appropriately.
  • Managing NSO budgetary and financial functions.
  • Planning and preparing the annual NSO budget outlines.
  • Supervising the execution of financial procedures and requirements for Partner activities.
  • Managing procurement, allocation, maintenance and replacement of NSO facilities, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensuring overall personnel management within the NSO.
  • Coordinating training for all NSO Staff.
  • Ensuring awareness, application and implementation of NATO Security Regulations.
  • Acting as NSO representative to NATO Bodies and Committees.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 8 years cumulative experience in at least four of the following seven domains: Information and Knowledge Management (IKM); Information Technology; Security; Standardization; Human Resources; administration; or financial management.
  • Proven management and administrative ability gained in a Senior Staff or Command function in a national and international defence organization.
  • Demonstrated ability, orally and in writing, to formulate complex issues in clear and convincing language.
  • Computer literacy: Working Knowledge of Word Processing, Graphic Presentation, Database and Spreadsheet.
  • Previous Military experience preferably in a NATO Joint Staff (desirable).
  • Thorough knowledge of NATO financial regulations, rules and procedures (desirable).
  • Broad knowledge of NATO Security regulations (desirable).
Qualification Requirements
  • A broad education, at least to university level or equivalent qualification.
  • National Staff/Defence College (desirable).
  • University level education in Information Management, Information Technology, or a related field (desirable).
  • NATO Information and Knowledge Managers Course at the NATO School as soon as possible upon accepting (desirable).

Contract Duration: • Three-year definite duration contract which may be renewed.

Remuneration: • 9,604.83 Euro (EUR) Monthly
