Overview

The Project Manager will ensure effective project management by maintaining the delivery of technical, operational, financial, and administrative outputs, while tracking project progress through monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. The role involves coordinating project implementation and supervising project personnel to achieve project results.

Tasks Summary
  • Implement and manage the project on a day-to-day basis, coordinating activities and supervising personnel.
  • Ensure timely and quality delivery of planned project activities.
  • Develop comprehensive project work-plans and monitor progress and financial resources.
  • Mobilize goods and services, manage project risks, and ensure adherence to UNDP rules and regulations.
  • Ensure gender equality and accessibility for people with disabilities in all project activities.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring and quality assurance of project implementation.
  • Coordinate and build strong partnerships with implementing partners and relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare project progress and ad hoc reports, and contribute to corporate reporting.
  • Ensure compilation and synthesis of lessons learned and best practices.
Experience Requirements
  • Applicants with a master’s degree (or equivalent) are not required to have professional work experience.
  • Applicants with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in managing or serving in a key programmatic role managing Solid waste, environment related or Natural Resources Programmes/Projects.
  • Proven experience in solid waste or natural resources projects project management, including planning, results-based management, financial oversight, and procurement, with demonstrated experience managing projects in crisis contexts.
  • Solid experience with UN, international organizations / local governments, NGOs, and bilateral and multilateral donors organizations.
  • Proven track record of in-depth understanding of the Solid waste management and environment landscape in Gaza.
  • Experience in managing or contributing to projects focused on at least two of the following areas: natural resources and Solid waste management.
Qualification Requirements
  • Advanced University degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Engineering, Natural Resources Management, Environment, Project Management or related fields is required.
  • OR a first-level University degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, with additional two years of qualifying experience.

Languages Required: Fluency English and Arabic, written and spoken is required
