Overview

The Project Adaptation Planning Officer will be responsible for the overall implementation of Outcome 2 of the project, focusing on strengthening governance, coordination, and institutional arrangements for Climate Change Adaptation planning and implementation.

Tasks Summary
  • Ensure achievement of 100% of Outcome 2 AWP targets (results and financial delivery).
  • Oversee procurement processes for NGOs, academic institutions, and consultants under Outcome 2.
  • Coordinate contractor work for quality and timely delivery of deliverables.
  • Maintain cooperation with priority cross-sector agencies and project stakeholders.
  • Develop Annual and Detail Work Plans and procurement plans for Outcome 2.
  • Support in planning and monitoring of activities related to Outcome 2.
  • Provide assistance in developing project reports.
  • Facilitate integration of climate change adaptation into sector agency planning.
  • Support in mapping out gender-sensitive products and activities.
  • Support preparation of project communication action plan and delivery of its components.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining a database of relevant organizations.
Experience Requirements
  • Applicants with a Master’s degree (or equivalent) are not required to have professional work experience.
  • Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in coordination, implementation or supporting climate change intervention, preferably adaptation initiatives or other related fields.
Qualification Requirements
  • Advanced University Degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Environment, Development Studies, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences, or any relevant related field is required.
  • A first level university degree (Bachelor's degree) in the areas mentioned above with an additional two years of relevant experience will be given due consideration in lieu of Master's degree.
