Overview

Provide logistical support for the organizational process of COP17, CRIC 24, and COP18 sessions, including regional preparatory meetings and side events, and build in-house capacity.

Tasks Summary

• Assist with the provision of logistical services for COP17, CRIC24, and COP18 sessions.
• Organize regional preparatory meetings and side events.
• Provide in-house capacity building on logistic requirements.
• Liaise with UNOG/New York Conference services on meeting room arrangements.
• Act as the main logistic contact point with the host country/service providers.
• Liaise with IT on equipment and IT services.
• Monitor general logistics and arrangements for meetings.
• Address general logistic issues raised by staff and participants.
• Ensure technical equipment, furniture, and offices are available for meetings.
• Prepare, monitor, and announce meeting schedules.
• Train UNCCD staff on logistic arrangements.
• Ensure logistic arrangements for side events and meetings of various groups.

Experience Requirements

• Proven years of experience in organizing major United Nations conferences is required.
• Experience in and understanding of the United Nations system, as well as intergovernmental processes, is a strong asset.
• Good knowledge of the logistical aspects of UN conferences and meetings and the organization of work related thereto would be a strong asset.

Languages Required: • Excellent command of English and French is required.

Languages Preferred: • Additional UN language would be considered an asset.

Contract Duration: 06 months between 05 February to 31 December 2026
