National Consultants (Child psychiatrist, expert in cognitive & behavioral therapies for children and adolescents)

Overview

The role involves developing and delivering training programs on cognitive and behavioral therapies for frontline staff and educators in juvenile rehabilitation centers, as well as conducting supervision workshops for therapists working with juveniles presenting mental health challenges.

Tasks Summary
  • Develop an inception note detailing the understanding of the mission and implementation timeline.
  • Prepare a CBT training programme tailored to frontline staff and educators.
  • Deliver seven (7) CBT training sessions of two days each, targeting psychologists and medical staff.
  • Conduct four (4) supervision workshops for therapists implementing CBT and group sessions.
  • Participate in UNODC technical meetings, workshops, and coordination sessions.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 07 years of relevant clinical experience with child and adolescent psychopathology is required.
  • at least 02 years of practical experience in delivering CBT for children and adolescents is required.
  • At least 02 years of Medical specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry experience in developing pedagogical/training programmes are desirable
  • Field experience in mental health with vulnerable juveniles in conflict with the law is desirable
  • Prior experience with the UN system or international organizations is desirable.
Qualification Requirements

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in child and adolescent psychiatry or clinical Psychology and child/adolescent Psychopathology, or a related field is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Other Details

Languages Required: fluency in French, i.e. oral and written proficiency, is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 40 days between 23 February and 23 May 2026
