Overview
The Senior Security Guard performs routine duties to ensure the safety of staff, visitors, premises, and assets at FAO. The role contributes to providing a safe and secure work environment.
Tasks Summary
- Receive personal documents and issue building passes and parking permits.
- Respond to routine inquiries and provide information or redirect as appropriate.
- Maintain up-to-date directories and receive and log mail after normal business hours.
- Lead patrols in assigned areas, including parking areas.
- Detain and accompany any persons acting unlawfully to the Security Supervisor on duty.
- Control entry of persons into FAO premises by verifying building passes.
- Refer any irregularities to the Security Assistant (Lieutenant) on duty.
- Call taxis for FAO staff/non-staff, visitors, and delegates.
- Ensure security measures are observed at entrances/exits relating to the control of removal of FAO property.
- Maintain continuous surveillance against fire, water leakage, deposit of dangerous objects, or other actions.
- Perform prescribed safety measures.
- Receive VIP visitors and high-level officials and provide appropriate security assistance.
- Be responsible for 'Lost/Found' items.
- Monitor the internal alarm system on site and cameras.
- Alert operating and emergency staff as appropriate.
- In the Control Room, monitor video and electronic control surveillance systems.
- Alert Guards through the radio system to security risk situations and advise on appropriate action.
- Call emergency services if required.
- Receive urgent communication and refer issues to the responsible Assistant Security Supervisor (Sergeant).
- Perform other related duties as required.
Experience Requirements
Four years of experience with a national or international police force, armed forces, a private security organization, fire brigade or security service of a large organization, or in a position requiring high security, confidentiality and total integrity.
