Overview

This internship supports the Subregional Office for Southeast Asia (SROSEA) at ESCAP in advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through policy work and activities. The role involves assisting with research, project implementation, and the development of digital platforms and multi-media content.

Tasks Summary

• Contribute to research initiatives on issues related to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in ASEAN.
• Assist in coordinating UN–ASEAN engagements and joint initiatives.
• Support the planning and delivery of SROSEA meetings and events.
• Develop communication and outreach materials.
• Provide support on special projects and other tasks as required.

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
• Have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS teams.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset.

Contract Duration: 3-6 months

Remuneration: The internship is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
