Overview

This internship provides research support, assists in project implementation, and aids in the development of digital platforms and multi-media content within the Space Applications Section.

Tasks Summary

• Conduct research on space applications for sustainable development related to disaster risk management, natural resource management, connectivity, social development, energy, and climate change
• Assist in developing and/or updating digital platforms and multi-media content
• Provide support in the implementation of capacity development projects
• Support the team in their day-to-day activities and tasks

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Strong knowledge on North and Central Asia are is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
• Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
• Be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme
• Have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS teams

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Fluency in Russian and/or any official Central Asian language is strongly desired. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 3-6 months

Work Modality: in-person

Remuneration: The internship is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
