Overview

Assist in the organization of substantive materials, coordination of missions, and research support for high-level engagements related to sustainable development challenges in the Asia-Pacific region.


Tasks Summary
  • Assist in organizing substantive materials for Deputy Executive Secretary's engagements
  • Assist in collecting and consolidating information on global and regional intergovernmental dialogues
  • Provide assistance in designing and developing products for high-level engagement
  • Support development of meeting notes and background materials
  • Assist in developing data work and analytical knowledge products for training and capacity development
  • Provide support in updating websites with relevant material
  • Support coordination of missions by the Deputy Executive Secretary
  • Provide logistical support to meetings and events
  • Support coordination of inter-divisional or inter-agency meetings
  • Support inter-agency coordination activities for the Regional Collaborative Platform
  • Support advocacy and communications work, including liaising with teams and partners, designing outreach material, and collecting media products
  • Support development and coordination of reviews of regional SDG implementation (focus on SDGs 3, 5, 8, 14, 17)
  • Provide research support for background/information materials for high-level engagements
  • Provide research support for speaking engagements
  • Assist in background and preliminary research for the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development
  • Evaluation of meetings and projects and compiling statistics
  • Support team in day-to-day activities and other duties as required

Experience Requirements

Qualification Requirements
  • Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
  • Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent)
  • Graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and commence internship within one year of graduation
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language

Contract Duration: 3-6 months

Work Modality: Onsite

Remuneration: UNPAID
